Joining Us on Zoom? A Quick Reminder About Names

With our next monthly meeting coming up, we wanted to take a moment to remind everyone about our Zoom attendance policy.

When registering and joining any of our Zoom events, please use an identifiable name — preferably your full name. This applies to all public meetings and classes.

Why does this matter? Two reasons:

  1. Security. Other societies have experienced incidents where unidentified attendees recorded and shared programs online without permission. We want to make sure that doesn’t happen to us.
  2. Smooth admittance. Our Zoom moderators need to be able to match your name to the registration list to let you in. An unfamiliar nickname or set of initials can cause unnecessary delays.

You’ll see this reminder posted on every Zoom calendar event, right above the registration link — but we know life gets busy, and things get skimmed, so consider this your friendly heads-up!

As always, Zoom attendees must register in advance to receive the link. We look forward to seeing you there!
