In recognition of the 80th anniversary of D-Day, almost all of Findmypast’s family tree hints, newspapers, and records are free to access starting today until Monday, June 10th at 2 a.m. PDT. The 1921 Census of England and Wales and Tree Search are not included. A free account is required to view records at Findmypast.
As a benefit of membership, Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society members have unlimited access to Findmypast records at the Sahyun Genealogical Library located at 316 Castillo St. in Santa Barbara, California. The library is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., most Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and the 3rd Saturday of each month (excluding August) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Join Findmypast’s research specialist, Jen Baldwin, on Friday, June 7 at 8 a.m. PDT for a special Facebook Live session dedicated to D-Day. She’ll dive into the stories and newspapers from this historic day.
