In the Community

In addition to providing resources online and at the Sahyun Genealogical Library, the Society actively engages with the local community. Our aim is to convey the value of studying family history as a way to enhance understanding of ourselves and our heritage. We participate in community events, providing exhibits about our society and aspects of local history, providing speakers to schools and community groups, and more. October is Family History Month, which always has various special activities for the genealogical-minded.

Request a Speaker

We provide engaging and interactive presentations about genealogy and the Society as well as a tour of our Sahyun Library. We can present at your site with a tour of our Library scheduled for a future date, or your group can meet at Sahyun Library for the talk and tour. We can adapt the talk to your group’s genealogical skill level and interest.
