Bert Perello was born in 1891 in Rivarolo Canavese, Italy and died in Santa Barbara on November 25, 1962. He was a laborer, working in gardens at private homes, as did his sons. He became a citizen and enlisted in 1917. He served in WWI as a Corporal in Company G Three Hundred Sixteenth Ammunition Train during the War, and then honorably discharged, having received the Latin Cross. He is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Santa Barbara.
